Allyson's Kindergarten Graduation

Our sweet Allyson graduated from kindergarten tonight. She was probably more excited than I have ever seen her!

With her teacher, Mrs. Fisher

Papa was able to come and surprise her. He arrived last night after she fell asleep. Nicole was still awake, though, so I had her close her eyes in the car and Papa surprised her when I went to pick up up.

He slept next to Allyson last night and we could hear her squeal with excitement when she woke up and saw him there!

Then he surprised Mallory. She was a little low-key about it all.

I let the girls stay home from school today to visit with Papa. We had a big breakfast of pancakes, eggs and bacon. Then Allyson went to graduation practice while we shopped a little.

Finally we were ready for graduation practice. I don't know if I've ever seen Allyson so excited!!

I've edited all the videos from the graduation together so you can just watch it all unfold as we did. You'll notice at one point she just couldn't keep from waving her hands in the air with total abandon and excitement.

What a happy and bittersweet time. Realizing she's growing up. And also that we are leaving the David Harrison school after this year. Nicole has finished 4th grade and would be leaving anyway but, since they are opening a brand new school near our home that is K-5th, we are going to send both girls there. We hope it will be as good or even better as David Harrison has been. So thankful for such a great opportunity to start my children's schooling in such a positive environment.

Some pictures from the evening.

Not sure what this look is about!!

Crossing the bridge ... no longer a kindergartner. Sniff Sniff

(Daddy helped hang these decorations earlier in the day. I wish I could have them for home!)

She was VERY excited to receive flowers from Daddy at the reception.

And, even though we had just eaten cookies, Papa's tradition is always Andy's Frozen Custard. So off we went to change and get Lucy ... we had just read they give sample cones to doggies.

Mallory would just not give up on this ice cream cone. Here is the blow by blow ... or lick by lick ... creating of a huge, sticky but quite yummy mess.

We sure love Andy's with Papa!! What a perfect way to end Kindergarten.
